At the ripe age of 20, one of my BIGGEST DREAMS, was to own a Barbershop. During my early, mid teenage years, I was raised in several Barbershops located in South Phenix City, Al, due to four of my brothers who all begin cutting hair and eventually working in Barbershops. With that being said, I felt privileged to have the opportunity of receiving services from any of my Brothers. In fact, I really didn't begin cutting my own hair or trimming my own beard into my mid, upper twenties. To me, the Barbershop was a location that we could all gather to share jokes, play video games, even drink beer after the place of business closed. A home away from home I might add. Well, it wasn't long before my dream became unforeseable and that I was placed under arrest to never be seen for almost twenty years. Shortly before my release date back in early 2014, A very important decision had to be made pertaining to me acquiring some type of income that I would feel comfortable with making instead of some loud mouth supervisor standing over me explaining what I am or what I am not doing right and before I knew it, I was cutting my first head inside a Federal Correctional Barbershop and the rest is history. Being a licensed Barber has not only allowed me to work for myself, but it's also placing me in a position to help others acquire a barber chair besides myself so they too can become their own Boss as well. So as you can see, my LOVE for the profession pertains mostly to helping others better their conditions financially, as well as, put a smile on a satisfied customer's face because in the end, in my life, making a person life better in anyway imaginable is what my heart longs to desire.
